SINGAPORE — A employee died after being discovered unconscious on the Tuas Port Part 2 development worksite on Saturday night (29 July).
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) mentioned in a media launch on Monday that the employee’s unconscious physique was first discovered at about 9am on Saturday.
The worksite security coordinator administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the person, and he was later conveyed to the hospital by the Singapore Civil Defence Pressure (SCDF).
The person was discovered to be an worker of Penta Ocean-Hyundai-Boskalis Joint Enterprise.
Investigations are at the moment ongoing. Each MPA and the contractor are offering help to the household of the deceased.
Second section of Tuas mega port
Development work for the second section of the Tuas mega port first began on 4 July 2019. The venture will oversee an 8.6 km wharf construction constructed with 227 caissons that shall be fabricated on website.
MPA awarded the Tuas Terminal Part 2 reclamation venture to Penta Ocean-Hyundai-Boskalis Joint Enterprise in 2018.
The mega port shall be developed in 4 phases, with the second section being the most important to be reclaimed at 387 hectares.
In line with the MPA, all container operations in Singapore shall be consolidated at Tuas Terminal by the 2040s.
