Demi Vollering completed runner-up within the 2022 Tour de France Femmes
Demi Vollering claimed victory on the seventh stage of the Tour de France Femmes to place herself in a robust place to win the yellow jersey.
Vollering powered by way of the mountain-top fog to win the 89.9km stage in two hours 52 minutes 43 seconds.
The Dutchwoman leads the general standings by one minute 50 seconds from Poland’s Katarzyna Niewiadoma with solely the person time trial left.
“I went full fuel to the end. I felt good. I stored pushing,” Vollering stated.
“I used to be nervous and the entire crew was behind me and advised me I might do it.”
Vollering had been seventh heading into the stage from Lannemezan to Tourmalet Bagneres-de-Bigorre – a minute behind earlier race chief and Worx team-mate Lotte Kopecky and 12 seconds drift of defending champion Annemiek van Vleuten.
